MediaRent runs a camera, lighting, audio and studio rental house end to end. It started as a fork of EquipRent and is now a full product in its own right. Bookings are made against a production (type, project and shoot location), kits only show as available when every unit inside them is free, and each equipment category carries its own prep/QC checklist at checkout and check-in. Lost items are billed at replacement value, damage waivers never cover loss or theft, and customers carry certificate-of-insurance tracking. Crew, studios, consumables, multi-location stock with transfers, condition photos, insurance claims and printable rental agreements are all included.
Version 1.3 adds a complete IFRS accounting back office: a 6-digit chart of accounts, rental income under IFRS 16, IFRS 9 expected-credit-loss provisioning, monthly depreciation, accruals, maker-checker journals, period-end close with period locks, and financial statements by IFRS line. Tax follows the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 (VAT 7.5% with input recovery, WHT, the small-company test, CIT and development levy). Invoices are ready for the NRS e-invoicing (Merchant Buyer Solution) regime: each one gets an IRN, is validated and transmitted, and prints with the NRS QR code, with a queue for rejected invoices.
The dashboard shows 18 live KPIs, and every tile clicks through to the records behind it. There are 17 standard reports plus a report builder, with exports to Excel, PDF and CSV. Legacy balances can be imported with validation before anything is saved, and there are 13 roles for segregation of duties. Logo, colours and company details flow through the portal, invoices and invoice emails, which are sent by a built-in SMTP client.
